The Ark was the only thing found in the Holy Place or the Holy of Holies.

Did you know? That the Ark was the only thing found in the Holy Place or the Holy of Holies. It was a chest of sittim wood, plated with pure gold inside and outside, with a crown of gold all around. It represents Christ, perfectly man (the wood) and perfectly God (Gold). Heb 9: 4. It contained the jug of gold which contained the manna, the rod of Aaron which had flowered, and the tables of the alliance. On the arch rests the propitiatory entirely of pure gold. It protects and encloses the contents of the ark. From this propitiatory are drawn two cherubs of beaten gold, placed one at each end, their faces are one opposite the other and turned towards the propitiatory which they cover with their wings to shade it. On the mercy seat, the high priest sprinkled the blood of a sacrifice once a year. It is the image of the blood of his son shed before him that we have obtained forgiveness. As the Ark accompanied the children of Israel on their journey to the desert, Jesus Christ also led his own and the Church to the world .
